I attended Sakuracon last month, and I must say, it is getting better every year I go! I had such a blast this year and will never forget! I will make this shorter, as I should've wrote this earlier when I still remembered everything, but I'm a procrastinator. So yeah
Wednesday:
I decided to fly to Vancouver Wednesday so I could help
Thursday:
This year I had more friends joining me at SC, so we continued working on our costumes while waiting for
I finally got to meet
Next stop was to go to pre-reg and get our badges and then head for supper. ~Kaze111 and I started a tradition last year where on the Thursday of the con we would eat at Red Robbins at the docks. There host was actually attending Sakuracon too, so it was nice to see others~
Friday:
Onto Friday! I had finally gotten a chance to cosplay from one of my favourite series: Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan! And a chance to cosplay one of my favourite characters: Okita Souji~ I felt more dedicated to try and pull this costume off so I decided to paint the kois on my jacket instead of other methods. I wish I did get around to painting all the kois in the lining, but I ran out of time.
~Kaze111 was Saito Hajime for the group, and ~Exorcist143 was our Heisuke~ I loved cosplaying with them, best Shinsengumi family I could ask for!
So much fun was had, and I think Friday was definitelyFmy favourite day out of the whole weekend~
Saturday:
I was apart of a big Ao no Exorcist group for Saturday. Myself as Amaimon, ~Kaze111 as Mephisto,
I had a lot of trouble this day, as I decided to have long nails to stay true to Amaimon's design, and it was a major pain. I could barely do anything for myself, but I'm proud to say only one fell off before I was going to take the costume off!
I bought a tiger kigurumi that day as well and decided for the evening to wear it to relax a bit~
Now we also have a tradition to eat at the sushi restaurant cross the road Saturday night. It is such a good place and the sushi is awesome~ I recommend it!
Sunday:
Originally I was going to re-wear a costume for SC Sunday, but I had begun to replay FFXIII and just had to cosplay from it. So I made a Hope Estheim cosplay to finish off the weekend~ Sunday was also spend the rest of our money at vendors day. SCon's vendors have been the best ones I've ever been to, so I'm always happy to spend money there.
We ran into *Theelfinartist and ~kaleso here in their How to Train Your Dragon cosplays. THEY MADE SUCH A WONDERFUL HICCUP AND ASTRID that I almost died. Their Toothless is adorable too and I think that factory of toothless making should still happen.
It was sad to see Sakuracon almost done for another year, I had such a fantastic weekend. We topped the evening off with a nice dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.
I just had such a wonderful weekend that I cannot write everything down that was awesome. But just hanging out, cosplaying with friends, meeting new people, it was all amazing! I really can't wait for next year~
But coming up now is my home con Otafest~ It is only two weeks away and I should get started on my costumes for that...BUT my lineup is:
Friday: Byakuran(White Spell) from Katekyo Hitman Reborn with
Saturday: Mami Tomoe from Puella Magi Madoka Magica with
Sunday: Amaimon from Ao no Exorcist with ~Kaze111 as Mephisto again
Much fun will be had there. We also will be entering the cosplay contest for our Madoka group, I will get a video and post it for sure after!
Anyways, more Sakuracon photos will come eventually and soon Otafest ones too! Stay tuned and thanks for reading!
